Daniel has 5 British Blues Foundation nominations, 'Best UK Blues Keyboardist'; & a nomination for the Jools Holland -Boisdale of London Best Boogie Pianist. He has also been recognised for his Multiple Sclerosis Society fundraising.
PIANO ROOTS
50 years! That's how long Daniel has been playing boogie. His mother showed him a left-hand bass aged 8; he had classical training; but his blues/jazz roots run back to mother's pianist father, who led a jazz band in 1930's Jakarta, Indonesia. He was especially inspired by the boogie of his uncle on visits to Holland.
PIANO STYLES
The records of Daniel's artist father also inspired, introducing him to Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson, Memphis Slim, Otis Spann, Ramsey Lewis, Dr John & Ray Charles.
